If you have ever had hemorrhoids, then you know how uncomfortable they can be at times. When the veins in your anus and anal canal get swollen, this is a hemorrhoid. Sometimes these veins swell further up in the anal canal, which are called internal hemorrhoids, and sometimes the veins swell at the anal opening, which are then called external hemorrhoids.
